New Yorkers: What is the best cell phone service provider for Manhattan?
Cingular, t-mobile, sprint, ? which one gets the best service?

Craig answers:
I would say that Cingular provides the very best service in the NY metro area.
Now it used to be Verizon, but with Cingular and AT&T Wireless merging, their network capacity and number of cell sites have essentially doubled…so its very tough to find a ‘dead spot’ in the NY area on the Cingular network.

Paul asks…
Which cell phone service provider has the best upgrade policies?
I currenly have Verizon and I hate theirs. This new every 2 thing is weak. I’m 8 months out from my contract expiring and my phone breaks and they won’t let me resign for another 2 years to upgrade. So, I’m not going to resign in May, when my contracts up.

Craig answers:
They are suck. 2 years is standard.
Sprint is every two years– you get $150 every two years. If you want to renew your contract before then, they sometimes give you $75. They limit how often you get the $75 though.

Michael asks…
Which cell phone service provider has the best reception?
I’ve been thinking about trying MetroPCS but I heard you don’t get very good reception in many places. I’m also interested in T-Mobile. Anyone know anything about either of these providers?
I already have Cingular, but I don’t like it anymore and I want to get a sidekick3 from Tmobile. My second option, is of course MetroPCS.

Craig answers:
It all depends on where you will be using the phone. Each carrier has good spots and bad. If you are looking into T-Mobile. Check out their website, it has a Personal Coverage Check, where you type in an address and it will show you how many bars you should have there. Type in as many addresses as you want, it is free. Mainly you should have good coverage in locations you visit the most. Home, school, work, friends house, etc
